Scand-LAS scholarship

The Scand-LAS Scholarship is to support our members´ participation at the Scand-LAS Annual Conference.

NB! Scand-LAS scholarships are not allocated in years when the FELASA congress is arranged, but then it is possible to apply for CPD Grant.

Who can apply

Only Scand-LAS members can apply. Scholarship is open for:

Junior scientists (<5 years since PhD graduation)

Postgraduate students/PhD students

Animal technicians

Biomedical laboratory technicians

Other non-scientific personnel*

*In extraordinary circumstances when they have difficulties in getting funding from other sources.

  • Postgraduate/PhD students, junior scientists and the non-scientific personnel specified above must submit an abstract for poster or oral presentation in order to be eligible for the scholarship.
  • Technicians are encouraged to submit an abstract for poster or oral presentation. This will strengthen the possibility to receive funding.
Refunding process

The scholarship is reimbursed after the meeting to those who have been granted scholarship.

To be refunded, the scholarship holder must present no later than 3 months after the activity:

  • Original receipts
  • A short travel report that includes what was achieved during the meeting.

Application procedure

Where and when?
  • Application deadline is February 1st every year.
  • Email your application to Scholarships@scandlas.org. Application attachments should be submitted as one PDF file.
Application must include:
  • The completed application form, including the full CV and motivation for attending the annual meeting
  • A Letter of recommendation (must be signed)
  • Abstract for poster or oral presentation (optional for technicians, obligatory for others, see “Terms of support”). See also guidelines for abstract submission below.

The application must be in English. Those of you that are concerned about writing in English, please ask your supervisor or anyone from the Scand-LAS board for assistance.

NB! Only complete applications will be considered. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
