\n\t\n\t\t\tScand-LAS Award of Honour\n\t\t<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Award of Honour is given to members who have furthered the interests and aims of the Society in an exceptional manner. The award is given out as a gold or silver medal. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Scand-LAS Lars Wass award honours an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to laboratory animal science education and training.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFor many years Lars Wass was a leading figure in laboratory animal science and was also one of the founders of Scand-LAS in the early 1970\u2019s. He was engaged in the importance of education and training, and in particular LAS education for technicians and young researchers.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn 2012 the Scand-LAS Board decided to inaugurate the Lars Wass award. In 2015, the Board decided that the award should honour an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to LAS education and training.
\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe presentation of the Lars Wass award winner takes place during the scientific program of the Scand-LAS annual meeting.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBoth the nominator and the nominee have to be Scand-LAS members.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

  • The full name and contact details of both the nominator and the nominated individual.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    • The CV of the nominated individual which in particular highlights contribution within LAS education and training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      • A written statement (up to 1000 words) pertaining to the nominated individual\u2019s qualifications for the award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
        \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

        The nomination should be sent by email to secretary@scandlas.org.<\/p>

        Deadline for nominations:<\/span> November 30th each year.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

        \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tScand-LAS Board performs the evaluation of nominees and makes the decision. Lars Wass award is not given out every year but rather given when an outstanding contributor arises in LAS education and training.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

        \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRecipients of the Lars Wass Award will receive a diploma and will be invited to give the \u201cLars Wass Lecture\u201d during the Scand-LAS annual meeting when the award is being presented.
